Context

This interactive activity was developed as part of a larger instructional concept focused on Healing Music and patient-centered music selection. The learning experience introduces practitioners to factors they should consider when providing music to patients in healthcare and hospice environments.

Because music can be heard by people beyond the intended patient, practitioners must consider the broader environment before selecting music.

Conditions

The activity was designed for an e-learning environment in which learners need to apply content about environmental awareness rather than simply recall information.

Scope

The module includes text, audio and multiple choice knowledge checks to reinforce information presented in the course.

Learners are presented with hospital-room scenarios and asked what they should do or consider when selecting music for a patient.

Immediate feedback corrects and reinforces principles taught in the lesson.
